Today, we will be welcoming more students back to campus. When WES reopened campus on September 14, we had approximately 40% of our students return in person. When school starts today, we anticipate around 70% of our students to be on campus. We will continue to make safety a priority. Students will immediately wash their hands when school starts. Student desks will be spaced apart and each student will have a shield on their desk. The school continues to be disinfected monthly and the A/C filters are changed each month. All students must wear masks while at school and while they are on the bus. Each student will have their temperature checked before boarding the bus or entering campus. Students who complain of symptoms that are considered symptoms of COVID-19 will be removed from class and sent home.

As we start the second quarter of school, we want to make sure each student receives the best instruction possible. Teaching students in person while teaching students online at the same time is very challenging. With this in mind, we have decided to change schedules this week. Teachers will be splitting their time between students on campus and the students online. We think this approach will allow teachers to focus more on each group. The teachers' attention won’t be split between the two groups. All teachers have worked hard to design a schedule that will be beneficial for their students. The teachers from all the grade bands (K-2, 3-5, and 6-8) have come up with a schedule that will fit the needs of their students. Teachers will provide the schedule for their online students.

While we are excited to have more of our students back to campus, we understand why some students need to stay at home. We will continue to work to provide the best education to all students. If you have any concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact the school at 785-3311 or message us on Class Dojo.
